Grandma's Hands is an organization that supports struggling grandparents in caring for their grandchildren. While most grandparents are on a fixed income, nothing beats the love from family members keeping the children together, which usually falls on the grandparents who are going through their own challenges. With your help and community support, we can bridge the gap for those who are struggling to care for their grandchildren.

Did you know that in the U.S., approximately 2.1 million grandparents were responsible for their grandchildren's basic care in 2023, representing about 2.7 million children being raised in grandparent-headed households. 

Reasons for Grandparent Care

· Parental Substance Abuse or Addiction

· Incarceration of the Parent

· Parental Physical, Mental, or Emotional Health issues

· Child abuse or neglect

· Poverty or lack of resources for the parent

· Parental death or abandonment

· Military deployments of the parent
